Mass Communication

Mass Media/TV/Internet

It affects the behaviour, attitude, opinions and emotions of population that perceived and received the information.

Mass communication is the association with TV, print media, radio broadcasting, films, advertising and journalism. With such diversification new source of exploding social media and internet has created wave in communication.

The availability of 24x7 television channels and live telecasts of breaking news and events has posed an ongoing challenge to the business model of mass communication. The paradigm has also broadly shifted due to online feeds in fraction of seconds with advent of Twitter tweets and social media. The speed has changed the overall dynamics of mass communication.

The only problem with this speed is the authenticity of such information which when turns out to be false , it creates social tension, unrest, conflicts and riots. It leads to conducive social environment. The careful and thoughtful journalism has been compromised with alluring fate of cheap publicity in public domain targeting only negative aspect of community and wellbeing.

No doubt with an advancement of technology, world has shrink and become way compact but still the reality slips through the cracks leaving a wide gap open completely filled with hype.

Many mass media seem to be under siege of broad range of advertisement and marketing of product stills its proponents see this is the only way to combine events with consumer product. What if you see news telecast shows a devastating incident followed by promotional advertisement of life insurance? At some instance you will view this as insensitive and insane but it’s the only way forward to sensationalize and deliver while you sell.

The debate, analysis report, market trends, financial watch, real estate broad view had paved our ways of life.

When news broke, information spreads sporadically, with the blink of an eye stock market crash, farming to fishing  to traveling stays in lurch such an impact we have in our lives.
